Red Pandas are most active at dawn and dusk. They live in the south Himalayas and in mountainous forests of south west china.(1) They live at high altitudes that can reach 4,800 metres and do not generally venture below 1,800 metres. They rest during the day in branches of trees or in tree hollows and are active in the late afternoon and early evening hours. Red Pandas are very sensitive to heat.(9) |

The red pandas thrive when the temperatures between 17 and 25 degrees Celsius. They cannot tolerate it over the 25 degree.(5) These little creatures sleep during hot days in the shady treetops, often lying stretch out on branches to increase their surface area which in turn increases heat loss, keeping them cool. They often rolled up in tree hollows with their tails over their face when the temperature is too low.(9)
